I've got mail!!

It's fun to go away on vacation and come back to a pile of packages!

Coming back to a pile of other mail, not so much fun! LOL But back to the packages!!  The big box and a small box were Christmas presents(yes, already) that I had ordered because they were on sale!  Another two boxes were Diamond Candles that I had ordered, again on sale....half off as a matter of fact.  I'm still deciding if I'm going to keep those or give them as Christmas gifts.....decisions, decisions!  Another box was for a Smiley360 mission(more free stuff) that I'll be sharing about later.  The remaining packages were all for free items I had "earned".

As I've mentioned in previous posts, I've started using a site called Klout and with this site I've been able to get quite a few cool "perks" just for using Facebook and Twitter. No posting of ads or annoying things like that, just posting on other peoples walls or twitter feeds and interacting with them as well, something I was already doing anyway!  So, what did I get????

The first one I opened was the DVD for the new series Perception on TNT:

Seems like a cool show and haven't had a chance to watch it....yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Next up:

This one was called the "Bing, Summer of Doing" perk.  It's three small containers with compressed soil and herb seeds.  Just add water, watch the disk expand and plant the seeds and as long as I don't kill them (my thumbs are not green!) I should be growing parsley, chives and basil!  The best part of this perk, is that little black card on the left hand side.  It's a $10 visa card.  Who knows, if I can grow these herbs, maybe I'll actually start some sort of herb garden in my kitchen!

The next box opened had this:

Aveeno Exra-calming facial wipes for removing makeup.  Now, I don't wear alot of makeup, but have been thinking that now that I'm getting, um, more "mature" I should probably start taking better care of my skin and what a better way to try and get into the routine than with free stuff!  I have to say I have used these several times already and I really like them.  They smell nice and make my face feel nice and soft.

The final box/padded envelope I opened held the following:

That's a $10 gift card to Chili's to try their new "Bag The Bag Lunch" menu that they have.  Who doesn't love free food!  Now to find time to get to Chili's.  Lunch is on me friends...okay, friend.......near me.  LOL

I love getting free stuff, even better when it's free stuff I can really use and not just because it's free!  I'm really enjoying Klout.......alot and look forward to even more perks. I just missed out on a perk for Legoland....it was for 4 tickets, would have loved to get that perk, but I was traveling back to Arizona on the day it went live.  Oh well, there will be more.  In fact, I already have two more coming, can't wait!

Traveling observations

Here some observations I had while traveling from Arizona to Wyoming:

1) Having to get to the airport 2 hrs before a flight even though you know security won't take you more than 10 minutes.....but you don't want to take the chance.

2) People having 12 carry-ons and getting away with it.....especially when you know there is NO WAY that one piece of luggage is going to fit on the plane.

3) The flight attendants that let them get away with it.

4) The people in boarding group 7 (out of 7) who think they can still board before their designated time.

5) The flight attendants that let them get away with it.

6) The people who as soon as the boarding starts are right there chomping at the bit to get on the plane, even though it's still another 20 minutes before they are going to call their group.

7) The people who put their luggage in the overhead bins at the front of the plane or as close to the front as the can find, even though the are sitting at the back of the plane.

8) The flight attendants that let them get away with it.

9) The people that stand as soon as the plane is docked even though they are at the back of the plane and the doors aren't even opened yet.

10) Those same people hurrying to baggage claim to stand and wait another 10 minutes for the baggage to arrive.

11) How people stake out their territory while waiting for their baggage.

What are some observations you have had while traveling?

What have I gotten myself into?!?!

So, I'm getting ready to go on vacation with the family to Wyoming.  We'll be staying in a small town called Pinedale.  It's a nice little town and I'm very much looking forward to going and just unplugging.....literally!  Now don't get me wrong, I'm still taking the laptop, iPad and Kindle for email, the teenager and reading, but I don't plan on being online much more than that.  Which hasn't happened in a long, long time!

Luckily with the Kindle I'll have plenty of books to read without the weight of all those books.......if you don't have a Kindle or some device similar I ask you, why not!  LOL.....anyway.........so I thought what else could I bring to do that would be relaxing, yet not require electricity.....and this is what I decided on:

Cross Stitch!  Am I nuts?!?!  I haven't cross stitched in years, but I saw someone else doing it last week and thought, gee I should start doing that again.  So I ordered these thinking, they are small things, so shouldn't be too difficult.....one problem, I've never cross stitched on a blank canvas before, it always had a pattern printed on it, so I ASSUMED that all were like that.....silly me!  Neither of these have the patterns printed on them, so, yes,  I panicked  after I opened them.  But after watching a couple of videos on Youtube, I think I can do this!  May not be as restful as I had wanted but I do think I'll still like doing it.    I did however order a couple more WITH the patterns stamped on them....at least I hope so!  We'll just have to see how far I get.  Stay tuned! LOL
